Thankful Remember: A Designer’s Real-World Review
Practical Designer Notes You’ll Actually Use
- Always test in black and white first. Its personality lives in contrast and shape—not color. If it reads weak without hue, it’ll read weaker with it.
- Check small-size readability on real mockups. Print a 12pt sample on your intended substrate—or render it at 1x resolution on an iPhone screen. Does the ‘e’ stay open? Does the ‘s’ retain its curve?
- Compare case treatments side-by-side. Uppercase locks up fast. Lowercase flows—but only with proper tracking. Default spacing often needs +20–40 units of letter-spacing for headlines.
- Pair intentionally. With serif fonts: try it beside Merriweather or Lora for editorial balance. With sans serif fonts: Inter or Poppins add modern clarity without fighting its warmth. Avoid pairing with other script or handwritten fonts—they compete for the same emotional space.
- Confirm commercial licensing before any client or business use. Thankful Remember is a premium font—its license covers digital products, Canva templates, and merch, but verify scope per platform (e.g., some licenses exclude resale of editable template files).
